![]() ![]() If you prefer AMD graphics you’ll need a Radeon 7950 or better. You’ll need at least a 64-bit quad core processor running 2.5Ghz or better, 8GB of memory, an nVidia GeForce 780 or better on the graphics end. While they’re nowhere near the level of hardware you’ll need for some of the AAA multiplatform blockbusters from the likes of Activision, EA, or Ubisoft, you won’t be able to get by on a potato machine. That said, the requirements for Serious Sam 4 are a little bit beefy. But if you want to lower things for performance, or raise things to make them look as good as things allow. The game does a pretty good job of pre picking options based upon your hardware configuration when it does its initial scan. The game has a slew of options for tweaking graphics, performance, audio, and more. When first starting the game I had a pretty exceptional first impression. And shortly after I began my initial play through, I saw a few people lamenting the game. Those trailers got a lot of people psyched. RIDE: Piloting Werebulls and Khnums is one of the most fun things you can do here. But then leading up to the release, we suddenly saw several trailers. A couple of years ago we got the first trailer, then not much of anything. A quick quip to say it was coming, or news that the writers of The Talos Principle would be writing the storyline to this game. ![]() From there it was a sporadic blip or two. Many wondered if it would see the light of day after Croteam had such luck with the beloved Talos Principle and then their VR efforts with Serious Sam VR games like The Last Hope, and ports of The First and Second Encounter to VR. Over that time there has been a lot of concern with many fans. It’s hard to believe, but Serious Sam 3 is almost 9 years old as I’ve started typing this. Well then, hearing anything at all about it would have been good news, let alone this pleasant-but-puzzling development. It’s finally here. Last time we paid attention, Croteam were planning to release it by the end of 2014. It's been a fair while since we heard anything from Serious Sam 4. Verena and Jonas have made their own games together for years, most notably The Sea Will Claim Everything. Jonas was one of the two writers and narrative designers on The Talos Principle, along with Tom Jubert, while Verena worked on localisation. It was a very pleasant surprise, because ever since Talos, we've been good friends with the people at Croteam." At first I was just suggesting some ideas, some bits of dialogue, but eventually I ended up writing an entire draft of the script and working full-time with the team in Croatia. "I didn't really expect to be doing this. Going to Croatia and working in the office just confirmed that." But more than that, we immediately clicked with the team, were treated like family, and really wanted to keep working with them. "I was a fan of Serious Sam before I got to work with Croteam, so I must admit I was sort of hoping I might be involved with the next one if The Talos Principle went well. My spies have managed to reconstruct shredded early drafts salvaged from the office bins, and I'm excited to exclusively bring you a line of actual 100% real genuine SS4 dialogue.īefore that, here's a quote from Jonas in the announcement: Jonas Kyratzes, one of the writers of Croteam's fine philosophical robopuzzler The Talos Principle, and development/life partner Verena Kyratzes will be writing the screenplay for the backpedalling FPS, the gang announced today. "ᵃᵃᵃᵃᵃᵃᵃᵃᵃᵃᵃᵃᵃᵃᵃᵃᵃᵃᵃᵃaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" is the only line of dialogue I can remember from any of the Serious Sam games.ĭespite this, developers Croteam are bringing in some big wordguns for Serious Sam 4. ![]()
